What Star Reciever Should The Bears Add This Offseason?

Why Do The Bears Need Anthor Receiver?

The Bears will most likely have a new quarterback coming into next season with Calbe Willams or Drake Maye, but even then, adding a good weapon for Justin Fields is needed. It can not just be DJ Moore and Cole Kmet. Yes, Darnell Mooney can be pretty good sometimes, but it seems unclear if the Bears will resign him this offseason. Even then, they still need a wide receiver three on the team and could get one in free agency or the upcoming draft. So, what options do the Chicago Bears add as a receiver this offseason?

Tee Higgins

This past season, Higgins had 42 catches, 656 yards, and five touchdowns. He is missing a lot of the year and is not having a dominant season like he has had over the past two years. According to ESPN, in his 2022 season, Higgins had 74 catches, 1029 yards, and seven touchdowns. According to most analysts and fans, this is a super tall co-tested catch receiver in the NFL. They would be a great fit on the other side of DJ Moore, who is a different size than a guy like Higgins. The Price for a guy like this would be around 20 million a year if not more, but if the Bears keep Fields, this seems like an unlikely signing.

Malik Nabers

Nabers was a very exciting receiver to watch this last season at LSU. He had 89 catches for 1569 yards and 14 touchdowns. The most impressive season we saw last year from a college receiver. Somehow, he lost the Belinderkoff trophy, but his draft stock should remain the same. Nabers is a top-10 pick projected player, and with the 9th pick in the draft, the Bears could take the Star College receiver if he makes it to their pick. It would be nice to add a guy like this with whoever the Bears take with the 1st overall pick at QB.

Rome Odunze

Odunze was electric this season for the Washington Huskies, as he had 92 catches for 1640 yards and 13 touchdowns on a loaded offense. He is 6 ft 4 and built at receiver, but is likely the 2nd best all-around receiver. This guy could be at pick nine if Nabers is not. He is projected to be in the top 10 picks and could go into the top 6. This pick could work either way. The Bears go with QB, and they would be an outstanding player for the Bears to have on the team for five years.

Marvin Harrison Jr

Marvin Harrison Jr. is the most hyped-up receiver who has entered the draft since Calvin Johnson. He is the son of hall-of-famer Marvin Harrison Sr. and has had 67 catches for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns. This is the most unrealistic guy for the Bears to get because he is hyped up to be a top 4 pick, and some think he could go number 1. The only way that the Bears draft him is if they resign Justin Fields and use the 1st overall pick on him or if they trade back two picks with the Patriots and take him. Realistically, it’s the most unlikely pick.

The Wrap Up

Overall, the Bears have many options on who they can add this offseason to be that next dominant receiver. They could also draft a guy in the late 1st round or 2nd round if they trade back or want one of those guys. They could also get some receivers like Gabe Davis or Tyler Boyd in free agency. So make sure to like and follow, and tell me in the comments who you think the Bears should add this offseason!
